Claiming JHT From Your Phone, Funds in Days

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants who stop working do not need to visit a branch office to withdraw their JHT (Jaminan Hari Tua, Old-Age Security) balance. The entire process can be done online from home.

There are two main channels: the JMO (Jamsostek Mobile) app for balances up to IDR 10 million, and the Lapak Asik (contactless service) for larger balances. Both are free, and funds are transferred directly to the participant's account.

How to Claim JHT via the JMO App

Download the JMO app from the Google Play Store or App Store, then log in with a registered account. Choose the “Jaminan Hari Tua (JHT)” menu and click “Klaim JHT”. Make sure all three requirement indicators show green checkmarks: inactive membership status, a minimum one-month waiting period after leaving the job, and valid data.

Select the claim reason — for example resignation or layoff — then recheck your personal data. Take a selfie for biometric verification as instructed on screen, enter an active bank account and tax ID if available, then check the balance amount and click confirm.

After a successful submission, monitor the status through the app's “Tracking Klaim” menu. If approved, funds are transferred within 3–7 working days — for small balances, even within hours.

Large Balances: Claiming Through Lapak Asik

For balances above IDR 15 million, participants use the Lapak Asik service at lapakasik.bpjsketenagakerjaan.go.id. Log in with a BPJS Ketenagakerjaan account, choose the JHT claim menu, fill in personal data, and upload the required documents.

Select a branch office for verification if needed, then submit. Verification takes at most five working days once the documents are declared complete, and funds arrive within 7–10 working days.

Documents and Available Claim Types

Prepare documents as clear photos or scans: national ID (KTP), family card, the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participant card (physical or digital via JMO), and a bank book under your own name. The NPWP (tax ID) is mandatory for balances above IDR 50 million because it affects tax withholding, while resignation or layoff cases require a work-termination letter (paklaring).

Active participants who are still working can withdraw part of the balance: 10 percent for retirement preparation or 30 percent for a house down payment (with additional documents from the developer). A 100-percent claim applies to participants who resign, are laid off, reach the retirement age of 56, or to heirs if the participant passes away.
