Jojo Faces the All England Champion

Indonesia's Jonatan Christie faces an immediate test in the round of 32 of the 2026 Denmark Open. Jojo meets Taiwan's Lin Chun-yi on Wednesday (14/10/2026) at 17:30 WIB on Court 2 at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense.

Lin Chun-yi is no ordinary opponent. The Taiwanese shuttler is the reigning All England Open champion and one of the most consistent players on this season's world tour.

Indonesia sent three men's singles players on the European tour: Jonatan Christie, Alwi Farhan, and Moh Zaki Ubaidillah. With Ubed already out on day one, hopes now rest on Jojo and Alwi.

Head-to-Head Level, but Lin Won the Last Two

Jonatan's head-to-head with Lin Chun-yi stands at 3-3, but the recent trend favors his opponent: Lin won their last two meetings at the India Open and All England in straight games.

The 2026 Denmark Open is Jonatan's chance to avenge those defeats in front of the Odense crowd.

Jojo has a valuable asset: he is the defending champion of this tournament, which should give him extra confidence for the tough early-round duel.

The Defending Champion's Revenge Mission

As defending champion, Jonatan will not want his campaign to end in round one. Beating Lin would be a strong statement that he remains a force in men's singles.

Lin Chun-yi, meanwhile, arrives full of confidence after his All England triumph. The clash promises to be tight and could be one of the best matches of the round of 32.

Jonatan and Alwi Farhan are both in the bottom half and could clash in the round of 16 if both advance — an all-Indonesian battle in the making.

Eight Indonesians in Action on Day Two

Besides Jonatan, seven other Indonesians play on day two, Wednesday (14/10/2026). Alwi Farhan faces India's Ayush Shetty at 15:40 WIB, while Putri Kusuma Wardani (5th seed) takes on Thailand's Supanida Katethong at 17:20.

In doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Felisha Pasaribu open at 14:10 WIB, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah play at 18:10, Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti at 20:40, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri (3rd seeds) close the day at 22:20 against Kim Astrup/Andres Skaarup Rasmussen.

Rachel Allessya Rose/Febi Setianingrum (5th seeds) play on Thursday (15/10/2026) at 00:00 WIB. After six Indonesians fell on day one, these eight carry the nation's hopes in Odense.
