What KIP Kuliah Is

Kartu Indonesia Pintar (KIP) Kuliah is a government education-cost assistance program for high-achieving students from disadvantaged families. It covers tuition waivers (UKT/SPP) plus monthly living-cost assistance, so recipients can study for free until graduation. Since its launch, KIP Kuliah has helped millions of students across Indonesia.

The aid applies at accredited state and private universities running the KIP Kuliah program. Recipients are also exempt from the Rp200,000 UTBK-SNBT registration fee.

KIP Kuliah Registration Requirements

General requirements: Indonesian citizens, SMA/SMK/MA graduates within the last two years (for 2026, graduates of 2024, 2025, or 2026), aged at most 21, with valid NISN, NPSN, and NIK. Applicants must show good academic potential but come from families with proven economic limitations.

Economic hardship is proven with valid documents, such as DTKS registration, a Kartu Keluarga Sejahtera (KKS) or PKH card, a Surat Keterangan Tidak Mampu (SKTM), or orphanage-resident status. Applicants must never have received KIP Kuliah before and must not be receiving another similarly funded scholarship.

KIP Kuliah 2026 Registration Schedule

KIP Kuliah 2026 account registration opened from 1 February to 31 October 2026. Synchronization with selection routes follows the SNPMB calendar: the SNBP route on 3-18 February 2026 and the SNBT route on 25 March-7 April 2026, while PTN/PTS independent routes run June-October 2026 depending on each campus.

Applicants must pass university admission through SNBP, SNBT, or independent selection into an accredited study program. Only after being accepted does the university verify their economic documents before nominating them as recipients.

How to Register for KIP Kuliah Online

Visit the official site kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id and choose the account registration menu. Enter your NIK, NISN, NPSN, and an active email address — the system validates the data automatically. If validation succeeds, a registration number and access code are sent to your email. Activate the account via the verification link.

After logging in, complete your personal data, parent data, family economic condition, and academic history. Upload supporting documents such as family card, parents' ID, report card or diploma, KKS/PKH/SKTM proof, and a photo of your home. Choose the selection route you are joining so data syncs with the SNPMB system, then submit and monitor verification status. If you pass campus selection and economic verification, the recipient nomination is forwarded to Puslapdik for confirmation.
