Persija Rout PSIM 4-0 in Bantul

Persija Jakarta ran riot against PSIM Yogyakarta with a 4-0 victory in week four of the 2026/2027 BRI Super League. Visiting Sultan Agung Stadium in Bantul on Saturday (10/10/2026), the Kemayoran Tigers exploded in the closing stages with three goals in 10 minutes.

Persija did not start aggressively. PSIM tried to take the initiative and press the visitors' defense, but the hosts struggled to break through.

Persija became more clinical after the break. Their patience paid off in the 77th minute when Alexander Jeremejeff opened the scoring. The goal survived a VOR review with no offside found.

Four minutes later, Stjepan Loncar doubled the lead in the 81st minute off a Kerim Memija assist. In the 87th minute, South Korean Kwon Chang Hoon curled a clinical shot into the corner for 3-0, before Loncar completed his brace in stoppage time (90+4') with a fine finish.

Arlyansyah's Goal Disallowed After VOR Check

Before the goal rush, Persija had the ball in the net in the 55th minute through Arlyansyah Abdulmanan. The referee chalked it off after consulting the Video Operation Room (VOR), ruling Arlyansyah offside.

Persija had to wait until Jeremejeff's 77th-minute strike to break the deadlock, and no further goals came after the final whistle. The visitors sealed a comprehensive 4-0 win.

Loncar Reveals the Key to Victory

Persija midfielder Stjepan Loncar said the big win came from following head coach Shin Tae-yong's instructions to the letter. "It was a very difficult match. But we carried out all the instructions given by the coach," the Bosnia-Herzegovina passport holder said in the post-match press conference.

Loncar added that the victory was the fruit of the whole squad's hard work in training throughout the week, while insisting the team must not get complacent with the long title race ahead.

"We are very happy with the result and must continue our journey this way," he said.

Persija Top the Table, Next Face Persita

The win made it four consecutive victories for Persija in the 2026/2027 BRI Super League: 1-0 over Borneo FC, 2-1 over Persib Bandung, 1-0 over Java United, and 4-0 over PSIM Yogyakarta.

The perfect record puts Persija at the top of the standings. Next, they face Persita Tangerang at Banten International Stadium on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 19.00 WIB.

Persita are no pushovers: unbeaten in their first four matches with two wins and two draws, they will test Persija's consistency.
