CELIOS Survey Results on Government Policy

A survey by the Center of Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS) together with the Shadow Cabinet has recorded high levels of psychological strain among the public after two years of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka administration. Seventy-five percent of respondents said they felt stressed by government policies.

The finding was presented by CELIOS Executive Director Bhima Yudhistira during the virtual launch of the 'Two-Year Report Card for Prabowo-Gibran' on Sunday (10/11/2026). The report was published on Monday (10/12/2026).

"We asked about feelings of stress over government policies. Of 1,122 respondents, the answer was that 75 percent felt stressed by government policies and specifically 67 percent were stressed by Prabowo Subianto's behavior," Bhima said. The survey covered 1,142 members of the general public from various provinces and 129 experts, conducted from September 15 to October 9, 2026.

Stress Triggers: Taxes, Prices, and Jobs

According to CELIOS, the strain is tied to concrete problems. The top three stress triggers were rising staple food prices, difficulty finding employment, and law enforcement issues.

Household economic burdens stood out. Eighty-two percent of respondents complained that taxes and government levies felt increasingly heavy, while 78 percent named rising staple prices as an urgent problem the government must address.

The impact shows in household finances: 53 percent said their family's economic condition had worsened compared to a year earlier, 31 percent said it was unchanged, and 16 percent felt it had improved.

55 Percent of Prabowo Voters Won't Vote Again

The survey also measured respondents' political intentions. Fifty-five percent of those who voted for Prabowo in the 2024 presidential election said they would not vote for him again in 2029. Twenty-seven percent said they still would, while 19 percent were undecided.

On performance scores, both Prabowo and Gibran fell below the midpoint. Out of 10, the public gave Prabowo 4.6 and Gibran 4.9. Expert respondents scored them even lower: 2.8 for Prabowo and 2.2 for Gibran.

It should be noted that the survey measures respondents' self-reported feelings of stress, not clinical diagnoses of mental health conditions. The results reflect the answers of survey participants and do not by themselves prove that the entire population experiences the same condition.
