Chandra Jaya Bus Hits Truck on Ngawi Toll Road, 3 Killed

A Chandra Jaya tour bus carrying employees of the PT Cipta Alas Nusantara shoe factory from Mojokerto crashed into a Fuso truck stopped on the road shoulder with a burst tire, on the Ngawi-Solo toll road at KM 551+200 B, Sunday (18/10/2026) at around 3:00 AM local time. Three people were killed — Yoseph Rianto (24) at the scene, Firnimus Kleofat (67) and Alfred Noo (28) in hospital — and 19 others were injured and treated at Dr. Soeroto Regional Hospital in Ngawi. Ngawi Police's traffic unit is still recording victims and investigating the cause.

Ngawi Police Traffic Unit chief AKP Mochamad Imam Reza confirmed the incident; early findings suggest the bus veered left and struck the rear-right of the truck, and an investigation is ongoing.

Bus Veered Left Into Stopped Truck

A Chandra Jaya tour bus with license plate S 7573 UA struck a Fuso truck (B 9192 WT) on the Ngawi-Solo toll road at KM 551+200 B, in Kedungharjo Village, Mantingan District, Ngawi Regency, East Java, on Sunday (18/10/2026) at around 3:00 AM local time. Three people were killed and 19 others injured.

The bus, driven by Eko Wahyudi (45) from Gresik, was carrying 54 passengers — employees of the PT Cipta Alas Nusantara shoe factory from Mojokerto traveling to Yogyakarta for leisure. The bus was heading from Surabaya when it apparently lost control, veered left, and slammed into the rear-right of the Fuso truck.

The truck, driven by Yuventius M Jema (31), was stopped on the road shoulder after suffering a burst rear-right tire. Two truck passengers were near the vehicle at the time. The violent impact between the bus's front-left and the truck's rear-right killed Yoseph Rianto (24), the truck's assistant driver, at the scene from severe head injuries.
