First Half: Yamal Stunner Answered by Betis

Barcelona took the lead in the 10th minute through a stunning Lamine Yamal strike. From the edge of the box, the 19-year-old curled the ball into the net in style — an early goal-of-the-season candidate. The lead did not last long, however. In the 27th minute, Valentín Gómez levelled with a close-range header from a Pablo Fornals corner.

Just before half-time, drama struck. Giovani Lo Celso scored a spectacular volley for Betis, only for the referee to rule it out after a VAR review. Barcelona then retook the lead in the 41st minute as Rodri headed home a Fermín López corner. Half-time: Real Betis 1-2 Barcelona.

Second Half: Bernal Red Card and Goal Rush

The second half exploded into life. Gabriel Jesus extended Barcelona's lead in the 51st minute from a low Lamine Yamal cross. Two minutes later, Abde Ezzalzouli pulled one back for Betis to make it 3-2. But the hosts' momentum collapsed in the 54th minute when midfielder Facundo Bernal received a straight red card after a confrontation with Yamal — a headbutt and shove. Yamal was booked for his part in the incident.

Down to ten men, Betis could not contain Barcelona. Eric García struck in the 63rd minute from close range after a Pau Cubarsí flick-on from a Yamal free-kick. Dani Olmo sealed the 5-2 win with a strike from the edge of the area in the 82nd minute. Yamal was substituted in the 70th minute and named man of the match.

Record 9 Straight Wins Equalled

The victory keeps Barcelona perfect through nine LaLiga games this season. That flawless record equals the all-time best start to a season set by Real Madrid in 1968/69 — a historic milestone for the defending champions.

Five different scorers in one match underline the squad's depth. Yamal was directly involved in three goals (one goal, two assists), while Rodri, Gabriel Jesus, Eric García, and Dani Olmo ensured a convincing win in Seville.

Up Next: El Clásico for the Record

Next weekend, Barcelona face Real Madrid in El Clásico. A win over Los Blancos would set a new record: 10 straight wins at the start of a LaLiga season, surpassing Madrid's 1968/69 mark. It promises to be the most anticipated match of the season so far.

There was good news and bad news from Seville. Raphinha returned to action after injury, adding firepower to the attack. On the other hand, goalscorer Eric García was withdrawn early with a fitness concern — his condition will be monitored ahead of El Clásico.
