Bastoni Sent Off, Inter Still Win
Inter Milan earned their first Champions League win of the season in dramatic fashion. At the Giuseppe Meazza, early Thursday (22/10/2026) WIB, the Nerazzurri beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 despite playing with 10 men for more than 20 minutes.
Disaster struck in the 68th minute when Alessandro Bastoni received a second yellow card and had to leave the pitch. Coach Cristian Chivu was forced to reshuffle his defence, yet the decisive goal came from that difficult situation.

Carlos Augusto's Stunning Winner
In the 77th minute, Henrikh Mkhitaryan — on for just two minutes in place of Ange-Yoan Bonny — made an instant impact. With his first touch, the Armenian midfielder threaded a precise through ball to Carlos Augusto.
The Brazilian wing-back calmly beat goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk with an outside-of-the-left-foot finish through the keeper's legs, sending San Siro into raptures. Inter almost doubled the lead through Marcus Thuram, who had squandered several chances earlier, but the 1-0 scoreline held until the end.
First Three Points
The victory lifted Inter to three points after back-to-back defeats in the opening two matchdays. Still far from the safe zone, the first three points keep the Nerazzurri's hopes alive in the league phase.
Brave Shakhtar left empty-handed. The Ukrainian side threatened several times through Mykola Matviyenko and Newerton, but blunt finishing meant they failed to snatch a point in Milan.
