Goals Traded at Elland Road

Leeds United held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw in Premier League matchday 7 at Elland Road on Sunday (18/10/2026) evening WIB. The visitors struck first through Bryan Mbeumo, but the hosts roared back after the break through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The draw extends Manchester United's miserable run to five league games without a win. Leeds, meanwhile, once again showed their home resilience and forced the visitors to settle for a single point.

Mbeumo Puts United Ahead Before the Break

Manchester United took the lead in the 35th minute. Youri Tielemans whipped a low cross to the near post, and Bryan Mbeumo flicked the ball into the far corner. The goal was redemption for Mbeumo, who had headed wide from a Tielemans cross just minutes earlier.

Leeds had their own golden chances before falling behind. Nico Elvedi's close-range header was tipped away by United goalkeeper Senne Lammens, who also denied Ao Tanaka's half-volley. United's 1-0 lead held until half-time.

Calvert-Lewin Levels It, Named Man of the Match

Leeds equalised six minutes after the restart. Anton Stach's corner was flicked on by Tarik Muharemovic, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin was quickest to react, sweeping the ball past Lammens in the 51st minute. The goal lifted Elland Road and pushed the hosts into a more aggressive gear.

Calvert-Lewin troubled United's defence all game with his physicality and aerial presence. He also created chances for teammates before scoring the equaliser himself. The impressive display earned him the man-of-the-match award.

United's Winless Run Goes On, Leeds Strong at Home

After the equaliser, Leeds kept pushing. Efforts from Ao Tanaka and Noah Okafor flew over the bar, while Anton Stach's late strike was blocked and gathered by Lammens. United's best chance to snatch victory fell to Bruno Fernandes, but his effort flashed narrowly wide and another was held by Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford.

Expected goals (xG) had Leeds ahead 1.51 to 0.94 — a reflection of the hosts' dominance. The result leaves Michael Carrick's Manchester United still without an away win this season, while Leeds extend their unbeaten run at Elland Road.
