Real Madrid pulled off the most dramatic win of the season, beating AS Roma 4-3 on Champions League matchday two at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday.

The hosts led 3-1 and looked set for a historic victory. But Los Blancos showed their champion mentality, scoring three goals in the final seven minutes to turn the game around.

The first half ended 1-1. Marten de Roon put Roma ahead in the 20th minute before Kylian Mbappe equalized five minutes later.

Roma then pulled away to 3-1 and controlled the game until the 80th minute. The Olimpico roared in anticipation of a famous victory.

But Real Madrid refused to surrender. Carlos Espi pulled one back, followed by Endrick's equalizer to make it 3-3. Antonio Rudiger then became the hero with the winning goal in the dying minutes.

Three goals in seven minutes silenced the Olimpico and secured all three points for Madrid.

The victory keeps Real Madrid's perfect record in the 2026/2027 Champions League with two wins from two matches.

For AS Roma, the dramatic defeat is a bitter pill after dominating for 80 minutes.
