Opened by Pramono Anung, online applicants exceed 28,000
The Jakarta Career & Tenaga Kerja Mandiri (TKM, Independent Workforce) Expo 2026 was officially inaugurated by DKI Jakarta (Special Capital Region of Jakarta) Governor Pramono Anung in the 2nd Floor Hall of SMESCO Indonesia, South Jakarta, on Thursday (22/10/2026). The job fair organized by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government involves around one hundred companies offering a total of 12,000 vacancies for domestic and overseas placements.
“There are around one hundred companies with 12,000 job vacancies. Hopefully, even though it certainly cannot fulfill all expectations, just since opening today, I have already received reports that online applications have reached around 28,484,” said Pramono.
With 28,484 applicants competing for 12,000 vacancies, the ratio stands at roughly 2.4 applicants for every single job opening — and that figure does not yet account for walk-in applicants attending the venue directly. Competition for each position is expected to be quite fierce.

Schedule, venue, and free registration guide
For those who wish to apply directly, the expo is being held in person on October 22–23, 2026, from 09:00 to 16:00 WIB (Western Indonesia Time) in the 2nd Floor Hall of SMESCO Indonesia, South Jakarta. Meanwhile, online registration remains open longer, from October 8 to 29, 2026, via the official portal at karir.jakarta.go.id.
Participation is free of charge. This job fair is also designed to be inclusive, welcoming persons with disabilities provided accommodation requirements are met. Prospective attendees are advised to prepare their application documents prior to arrival or fill out forms online to speed up the process.
Attendees visiting the venue in person are encouraged to bring several copies of their curriculum vitae (CV) and supporting paperwork such as diplomas and identity cards, as several companies are conducting direct on-site interviews.
Facilities: from walk-in interviews to entrepreneur hub
In addition to applying directly, participants can take advantage of various facilities provided by the organizers, including walk-in interviews with participating companies, upskilling training sessions, an entrepreneur hub for aspiring business owners, and career talks discussing the professional world.
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi), Syaripudin, emphasized that all participating companies are required to submit monthly updates on their workforce developments. The recruitment process itself will be carried out in stages by each respective company.
Jakarta's open unemployment rate falls to 5.79 percent
Governor Pramono disclosed that DKI Jakarta's Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT, Open Unemployment Rate) has shown improvement, declining from an average of 6 percent down to 5.79 percent. He expressed hope that this expo will expand employment absorption and further curb unemployment figures across the capital city.
