Comeback 6-4 at Dodger Stadium

The Milwaukee Brewers secured their World Series ticket in dramatic fashion. Trailing 0-4 early on, the Brewers rallied and defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-4 in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, on Thursday (10/15/2026) local time.

The Dodgers briefly looked like they would force a Game 5. Shohei Ohtani crushed a three-run home run measured at 428 feet in the second inning — his first home run of this postseason — to give the Dodgers a 4-0 lead. But the Brewers refused to give in. Jake Bauers hit a two-run double in the fourth inning, then David Hamilton and a bases-loaded walk tied the score at 4-4 in the fifth inning.

The turning point came in the sixth inning. Garrett Mitchell hit a 409-foot solo home run off reliever Tanner Scott to give Milwaukee the lead for the first time. David Hamilton then added a solo home run in the ninth inning, before Aaron Ashby completed a three-inning save by snuffing out Dodgers threats that repeatedly put runners in scoring position.

Revenge for Last Season

This victory feels sweet for Milwaukee. Last season, the Brewers were swept clean by the Dodgers in the same round. Now it is the Dodgers' turn — two-time defending World Series champions — to be swept in four games without reply.

Milwaukee also became the first Major League Baseball club to sweep a postseason series after being swept by the same opponent in the previous season's postseason. The Brewers bullpen was outstanding throughout the series, repeatedly thwarting Dodgers opportunities with potential tying runners already on base.

First World Series Since 1982

With this victory, the Brewers earned a trip to the World Series for the first time since 1982. At that time, Milwaukee — which was still playing in the American League — lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games.

With the best regular-season record in the league this season, the Brewers will hold home-field advantage in the 2026 World Series, which begins Friday (10/23/2026). Their opponent will be determined by the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Cleveland Guardians, which is still ongoing.
