Antam Gold Price Up Rp7,000

The price of gold bars produced by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (Antam), Indonesia's state-owned mining company, strengthened again in Saturday's trading (10/17/2026). According to data on the official Logam Mulia (Precious Metals) website, the 1-gram Antam gold bar was priced at Rp2,572,000, up Rp7,000 from Friday's (10/16/2026) price of Rp2,565,000 per gram.

The increase extends a two-day rally. On Thursday (10/15/2026), Antam gold had corrected Rp13,000 to Rp2,561,000 per gram before rebounding Rp4,000 on Friday.

The buyback price — the rate Antam uses when repurchasing gold bars from customers — also trended positively. In Saturday's trading, the buyback price rose Rp12,000 to Rp2,387,000 per gram, up from Rp2,375,000 on Friday.

Sell-Buyback Spread at Rp185,000 per Gram

With a 1-gram selling price of Rp2,572,000 and a buyback price of Rp2,387,000, the spread stands at Rp185,000 per gram — before accounting for taxes or other fees that may apply.

The selling price is what buyers pay to acquire gold bars, while the buyback price is the reference value owners receive when selling their gold back to Antam. Buyback transactions are subject to tax deductions under Indonesia's Finance Minister Regulation No. 34/PMK.10/2017. A rising gold price therefore does not automatically mean owners profit when reselling; the outcome depends on the purchase price and the buyback price at the time of sale.

Global Gold Weakens Instead

Antam's price movement ran counter to the global gold trend. In Friday's trading (10/16/2026), global gold prices weakened. Citing Refinitiv data, global gold closed at US$4,165 per troy ounce, down 0.13 percent.

Over the past week, global gold has corrected 0.69 percent on a point-to-point basis. Antam gold's rise amid global weakness is drawing attention from Indonesians who use precious metals as an investment instrument.
