The origin of the photo was simple. Amaludin collected his favourite Indonesian songs and uploaded them to 4shared, and installed his own photo as an album cover of the files. His MP3 files were downloaded and distributed by other users, until his face spread widely into a familiar visual marker on the Indonesian internet.

Amaludin was embarrassed when he found out that his photo was famous as an MP3 cover.He called himself not a public figure, with a simple sentence: "I am not an artist."His day-to-day life continued beyond his unplanned fame — he worked as an agent in one of the Telkom Group's subsidiaries.

His story returned viral in January 2026 after he was invited to the television show "Ambyar Morning" to tell the beginning of his photo spread. On social media, he was nicknamed "Mas Stafaband", a loving nickname from citizens to men behind the legendary face of the MP3 download era.
