Martin vs. Marquez at the top of MotoGP 2026
The MotoGP 2026 World Championship competition entered the determining phase after 17 rounds. Jorge Martin of Aprilia Racing led the interim rankings with 355 points, only two points ahead of Marc Marquez of Ducati Lenovo Team who collected 353 points.
The two-point gap equals the smallest record since the previous 17 rounds in the 2022 season, when Fabio Quartararo faced Francesco Bagnaia. Interestingly, then-backed driver, Bagnaia, finally came out as world champion at the end of the season. This fact adds to the dramatic duel between Martin and Marquez this season.

Final Five Rounds: Phillip Island Test Awaits
The next series will take place on the Phillip Island Circuit, Australia. Facing two consistent Aprilia riders, Marquez insisted that his team will focus on their own work and not be affected by the opponent’s strategy.
With five series remaining and only two points of difference, the MotoGP 2026 World Championship title is potentially determined until the final race of this season.
Marquez also refused to rule out Bezzecchi, noting that the Italian rider has already proven fast on every circuit this season and remains firmly in title contention.
