IHSG dropped to 5,863, the entire Red Sector
The Joint Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed sharply on trading on Thursday (15/10/2026). Based on Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) data through RTI Business, IHSG lost 79.24 points or dropped 1.33 percent to position 5.863,78.

Inflation at 3.7 percent
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that the consumer price index (CPI) in September 2026 rose by 3.7 percent annually (year-on-year/YoY), surpassing market expectations by 3.6 percent and rising from 3.4 percent in August.
“The hotter inflation release of this consensus forecast quickly reverses the Fed’s monetary policy expectations,” said Mirae Asset Indonesia Senior Market Analyst Nafan Aji Gusta, to Kontan, Thursday (15/10/2026).
The markets are now reconsidering the Fed’s likely rise in reference interest rates at its meeting on 28 October 2026, with a probability of around 32.7 percent based on the CME FedWatch Tool. The change in expectations is reflected in the U.S. bond market, with the U.S. Treasury’s two-year tenor earnings boosting by 0.27 percent to a level of 4.806 percent.
Middle East crashes oil price
In addition to U.S. inflation, the escalation of conflict in the Middle East has increased market pressure.Responsive attacks between the Houthi group and the Saudi-led coalition targeting energy facilities and airports in Riyadh and Dhahran have increased global energy supply uncertainty.
Brent crude oil prices rose 0.45 percent to US$106.17 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil rose 1.07 percent to US$95.17 per barrel.
Analysts: Beware of correction
Head of Retail Research MNC Securities, Herditya Wicaksana, assessed the IHSG correction in line with the global exchange movements and the majority of Asian exchanges following the release of U.S. inflation data.
According to Herditya, the Fed’s hawkish attitude could potentially drive the rise in U.S. Treasury earnings and trigger foreign capital flows out of developing countries (emerging markets), including Indonesia. Technically, today’s weakening has penetrated the support area of 5,850, so the risk of further correction needs to be warned by market participants.
