Garudayaksa's First Victory at Pakansari

Garudayaksa FC (Football Club) finally secured their first victory in the 2026/2027 BRI Super League. The hosts defeated Arema FC 3-1 in their matchweek five clash at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (17/10/2026) afternoon.

Milos Joksic's squad was initially stunned by an early goal from Arema's Matheus Blade in the fifth minute. However, Garudayaksa bounced back and answered with three goals courtesy of Brian Rubio in the 34th minute, Jayro Jean in the 36th minute, and a finishing blow from Carlos Iury in the 70th minute.

This result ends a five-match wait for Garudayaksa to claim all three points, while also ending Arema FC's unbeaten streak at the start of the season.

Two-Goal Comeback in Two Minutes

Arema broke the deadlock just five minutes into the match. Matheus Blade met a corner kick with a header that beat goalkeeper Dominik Holec.

The hosts responded through the movements of Christian Frydek and Jayro Jean. In the 34th minute, Brian Rubio unleashed a strike that Arema goalkeeper Muhammad Adi Satryo failed to secure cleanly. Just two minutes later, Jayro Jean netted the second with a powerful shot from inside the box to put Garudayaksa ahead 2-1 heading into halftime.

Entering the second half, Arema stepped up the pressure to wipe out the deficit. However, their more exposed defense was exploited by Garudayaksa: substitute Carlos Iury scored the third goal in the 70th minute to seal the 3-1 victory.

Heroic Holec as Arema Lose Control

Garudayaksa's win was inseparable from the brilliant display of goalkeeper Dominik Holec. Particularly in the second half, Holec repeatedly thwarted a series of Arema attempts with quick reflexes and sharp positioning.

Arema FC head coach Marcos Santos admitted his side started the match very well but lost control after failing to handle set-piece situations. He noted that Arema actually had opportunities to extend their lead before Garudayaksa turned the game around.

With this result, Garudayaksa have collected five points from five matches, climbing to 13th in the provisional standings. Arema remain stuck in 10th place with six points. In their next fixtures, Garudayaksa visit Bali United while Arema host Persija, both on October 21, 2026.
