Trailing Early, Staging a Two-Minute Comeback

Garudayaksa FC finally claimed their first victory in the 2026/2027 Super League after defeating Arema FC 3-1 at Pakansari Stadium, Bogor Regency, on Saturday (17/10/2026) afternoon WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The hosts were initially stunned by an early goal from the visitors before fighting back to turn the game around.

Arema FC struck early through a header by Matheus Blade from a corner-kick routine in the fifth minute. Matheus won an aerial duel against Garudayaksa's goalkeeper, and the goal was briefly checked by VAR (Video Assistant Referee) before being confirmed by referee Yoko Suprianto.

Jolted by the conceded goal, the home side sought to increase their attacking intensity. A tactical adjustment by coach Milos Joksic following the water break immediately paid dividends: Brian Rubio equalized in the 34th minute by capitalizing on a rebound from Arema goalkeeper Adi Satryo, before Jayro Hestefano Jean put the hosts ahead 2-1 just two minutes later with a powerful strike from inside the box.

Carlos Iury Seals the Win

Entering the second half, Arema FC ramped up their attacking pressure in pursuit of an equalizer. Several golden chances were created by Marcos Santos' side, but Garudayaksa's resilient defending and unclinical finishing kept the score at 2-1.

Garudayaksa sealed the victory in the 70th minute when Carlos Iury Bezerra da Silva fired home from inside the penalty area to make it 3-1. Arema were unable to cut the deficit before the final whistle, allowing Garudayaksa to secure all three points after mounting their comeback.

Standings: Garudayaksa Climb, Arema Drop

This victory lifts Garudayaksa to 13th place in the interim standings with 5 points from five matches, recording one win, two draws, and two defeats, with six goals scored and seven conceded.

Meanwhile, Arema FC's first defeat of the Super League season left Singo Edan (Mad Lions) stranded in 10th place with 6 points from five outings. Marcos Santos' team holds a record of one win, three draws, and one loss after failing to protect their lead in Bogor.

For Arema FC, the result at Pakansari marks their first defeat after going unbeaten in their opening four fixtures. Singo Edan, who held an early lead, lost their momentum following the water break, as the hosts' two goals inside two minutes completely shifted the match.
