'Real Action' statement on two years of administration
A network calling itself the 98 Resolution Network released a statement entitled 'Real Action of 2 Years of the Prabowo-Gibran Administration: One Resolve to Grow with the People, Prosper Together' on Wednesday (21/10/2026). The volunteer group supporting President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka outlined several policies deemed significant milestones during the administration's two-year tenure.
The statement was initiated by Haris Rusly Moti alongside Wahab Talaohu, Eli Salomo Sinaga, and dozens of other activists. Highlighted areas included strengthening the people's economy, managing natural resources, education, health, and providing housing.
Article 33 as the grundnorm of economic democracy
The 98 Resolution Network assessed that the Prabowo-Gibran administration is striving to strengthen economic democracy by placing the public as the primary drivers of development. They linked this policy direction to Article 33 of the UUD 1945 (1945 Constitution), which governs state control over vital sectors of production and natural resources for the greatest prosperity of the people.
According to them, 'if political democratization, freedom, and equality in the political arena do not proceed simultaneously with the economic democratization agenda, what actually emerges is the practice of pseudo-democracy.' The network also warned that a development model reliant on raw material exports and imported consumption goods carries risks. 'Such a model risks positioning Indonesia as a coolie nation among nations,' they wrote.
The statement outlined nine monitoring agendas, ranging from institutionalizing economic democracy and restoring the public as subjects of development, to industrial downstreaming and domestic capital consolidation via BPI Danantara (Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency) and DHE (Export Proceeds Foreign Exchange) regulations. Highlighted initiatives included the MBG (Free Nutritious Meal) program, Red and White Village Cooperatives, Red and White Fishing Villages, and subsidized housing.
Conditional support in the style of a critical partner
While declaring support, the 98 Resolution Network emphasized that their backing remains limited and conditional. If government policies are judged contrary to the constitution or detrimental to the broader public interest, they affirmed their intention to voice critical views openly.
The network also asserted they will not assume positions in the cabinet or state institutions, ensuring their oversight role remains independent and sharp. They position themselves as critical partners and part of the public oversight ecosystem, noting guaranteed freedom of expression as a prerequisite for a healthy democracy.
