Lt. Col. Arman Named Suspect and Detained
The Military Police of the Jayakarta Regional Military Command (Pomdam Jaya/Jayakarta) has named Lieutenant Colonel of Infantry (Letkol Inf) Arman a suspect in a case involving the unauthorized leasing of military official housing used as an online gambling headquarters. The suspect designation was announced by the Commander of Pomdam Jaya/Jayakarta (Danpomdam Jaya/Jayakarta), Colonel of Military Police (Kolonel Cpm) Unggul Wahyudi, to journalists at Jakarta Regional Police Headquarters (Polda Metro Jaya) on Wednesday (21/10/2026).
"Yes, he has officially been named a suspect. It is currently being processed. We have detained him at Pomdam. Yes, there are elements of violation regarding the leasing of official housing," Unggul said. Lt. Col. Arman, who serves as the Section Head of Intelligence for Permanent Garrison (Kasi Intel Gartap) 1/Jakarta, is currently being held at Pomdam Jaya for questioning.

Cijantung Official Quarters Turned into Online Gambling Base
The official residence in question is located in the Army Housing Complex (KPAD - Kompleks Perumahan Angkatan Darat) in Cijantung, East Jakarta. The house, owned by the Indonesian Army (TNI AD - Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat), was leased to civilians and allegedly converted into an operational center for online gambling, equipped with computer equipment across several rooms.
"The tenants were ordinary people (civilians), the general public," Unggul said. The case unfolded after the Indonesian Army received reports of suspicious activities within the military residential compound. In early October 2026, personnel from the East Jakarta Military District Command (Kodim 0505/Jakarta Timur) alongside regional units raided the location and seized several items of evidence.
During the bust, 11 civilians consisting of six men and five women were apprehended and taken to the Military Police Detachment (Denpom - Detasemen Polisi Militer) for examination. Officers confiscated 32 computer units, 14 mobile phones, and nine national identity cards (KTP - Kartu Tanda Penduduk) allegedly used to operate the online gambling network.
Indonesian Military Investigates Rogue Personnel Involvement
The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI - Tentara Nasional Indonesia) is continuing to investigate when the official residence was first leased and repurposed as an online gambling base, including potential involvement of other parties. Head of Information for Kodam Jaya (Kapendam Jaya) Lieutenant Colonel of Artillery (Letkol Arh) Noor Ishak noted that the duration and timeline of the lease remain central to Pomdam Jaya's ongoing inquiry.
Head of the Indonesian Military Information Center (Kapuspen TNI) Brigadier General Muhammad Nas stressed that service members implicated in online gambling will face penalties. "The legal process is underway; sanctions will definitely be handed down commensurate with the gravity of the legal violation," Nas stated. The TNI emphasized that it will not tolerate the misuse of state assets by rogue soldiers.
The case has drawn widespread public scrutiny as it implicates an active mid-ranking officer from the garrison intelligence corps and exploited state assets situated in the heart of a military residential enclave. The Army stated that supervision over official housing assets will be tightened to prevent similar incidents from recurring, pending the outcome of Pomdam Jaya's ongoing investigation.
