Morgan Gamble Killed in Atlanta Hit-and-Run
Morgan Gamble, a 21-year-old student at Clark Atlanta University (CAU) who once appeared in the Netflix series A Different World, was killed in a traffic accident in Atlanta, United States, on Tuesday (13/10) night local time. The accident occurred at around 23.15 at the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Glenn Street, not far south of downtown Atlanta.
According to Atlanta police, the 2016 Mazda CX-5 driven by Gamble was traveling west when a Lexus coming from the north struck it. The event data recorder from the striking vehicle showed a speed of 94.44 miles per hour in an area with a speed limit of just 35 miles per hour.
Gamble was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but his life could not be saved. A witness near the scene told police that the suspect's car was speeding moments before the crash.

Figure Morgan Gamble: High-Achieving Student and Prospective Producer
On campus, Gamble is known as a student who shines. She is in her final year studying mass media and was crowned Miss Omega Psi Phi at her campus. Her interest in the world of media and production led her to be active in the student group 4-Reel Productions and to found her own production company, Rooted n Reelness.
She had worked as a background performer and student production assistant on Netflix's reboot of A Different World, and had appeared on screen. According to her family, she was also active on various film sets and other media in Atlanta, and had started a new club and podcast on campus.
Producer Jill Bennett from Fair Play Films recalled him as an exemplary student coordinator who handled major responsibilities in the production of the independent film The Transfer. Bennett said Gamble's input on the film's script was invaluable in shaping the authentic voice of the HBCU campus.
Driver Charged with First-Degree Vehicular Homicide
Lexus driver Nikolai Dunford (36) was arrested on the night of the incident and charged with three counts: speeding, reckless driving, and first-degree vehicular homicide. As of October 15, he remained in custody at Fulton County Jail. His attorney, Chad Trentacosta, called the case a heartbreaking event and asked that the legal process proceed carefully and fairly.
The victim's father, George Gamble, said he was baffled by the driver's speed. "I'm really confused how a car can go almost 95 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone," he said. The victim's mother, Brandi Gamble, also questioned the driver's decision to go that fast in a residential and commercial area.
The Atlanta police investigation is still ongoing. Further details regarding the charges and Dunford's legal proceedings have not yet been announced.
