Indonesian young rider Veda Ega Pratama completed the home race at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit with a sixth finish at Moto3 Grand Prix Indonesia, Sunday (11/10/2026). In front of the host supporter, Honda Team Asia rider was able to climb to fifth position after an incident involving Adrian Cruces in the 13th round before closing the race in the sixth position.
The additional 10 points made Veda’s record of points this season 115 and brought him up to seventh place in the ranking while Moto3 2026. More importantly, he surpassed his Danish rival, the 14th finishing Judge in Mandalika and now holds 107 points. Valentin Perrone (123 points) and Matteo Bertelle (109 points) became Veda’s closest competitors in the positioning.
With 115 points, Veda broke the record for the most points earned by Honda Team Asia rookie riders in one season. The previous record was held by Ai Ogura — who is currently racing in MotoGP — with 109 points in his 2019 Moto3 debut season. The Veda debut season has also been decorated with two podiums: in the GP of France and in the GP of Brazil. Team manager Hiroshi Aoyama praised the consistency of Veda’s lap time record despite the competitive run, and assessed the driver’s maximum performance in front of his own public.
The Moto3 2026 calendar still features five series: Australia, Malaysia, Qatar, Portugal, and Spain. The Malaysia Series in Sepang is predicted to be a golden opportunity for the Hakim Danish racing in his home — a situation that resembles Veda’s advantage in Mandalika. However, with this positive trend, Veda’s chances of pursuing Taiyo Furusato’s highest Honda Team Asia record (172 points in 2025) remain open.
The Mandalika race itself was won by Maximo Quiles who also secured the title of Moto3 world champion 2026, with David Almansa and Brian Uriarte completing the podium. The Veda ended with a difference of 12,017 seconds from the winner. The results in Indonesia became a valuable capital for the 17-year-old rider from Gunungkidul to face the next series while confirming that he was able to compete with international names at the world level.
